The “YURT CEMENT ENERGY IMPROVEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT PROJECT TO REDUCE CARBON FOOTPRINT” with a total budget of 23 million TL and carried out by Muş Yurt Çimento A.Ş., whose consultancy is carried out by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Salih ÖZER, the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture and the Head of the Nuclear Energy and Energy Systems Department, has been entitled to receive support within the scope of 1832 Green Industry Transformation projects of TÜBİTAK TEYDEB. In addition to being the first project submitted on behalf of the TEYDEB presidency in Muş province, it has also taken its place as the project with the highest total R&D budget. The knowledge and experience obtained after the processes carried out using on-site measurements and advanced analysis methods in the project that started in 2023 turned into a TEYDEB project on 16.05.2024 and the application made on 09.12.2024 was received positively and the implementation phase of the project was started. Within the scope of the project, mixed combustion systems and artificial intelligence-supported domestic high-efficiency fans, which will be produced for the first time in our country, will provide a 15% saving in total energy consumption and a 25% carbon blocking potential within the company. In addition, the knowledge and experience to be gained within the cement factory will be put into operation in similar factories in our country, providing significant energy savings and contributing to the national economy.
