Our Faculty Member's TÜBİTAK 2237-B Project Was Accepted

Within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 2237-B Project Education Activities Support Program conducted by the TÜBİTAK Scientist Support Programs Presidency (BİDEB), 1 project from our University was accepted in the 2024/2 term call.

Our University was awarded 177100 Lira support under the leadership of Dr. Lecturer Necattin Cihat İÇYER, Faculty Member of the Food Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture.

The aim of this project is to contribute to the project proposal preparation and project writing skills of PhD researchers or PhD students at least in the thesis stage who conduct research in the fields of engineering and natural sciences for the TÜBİTAK ARDEB National Support Programs.

PROJECT TRAINERS:

Prof. Dr. Osman SAĞDIÇ:

He works as a faculty member in the Food Engineering Department of Yıldız Technical University and serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Metallurgy at Yıldız Technical University. Prof. Sağdıç received the 2011 TÜBİTAK Science Incentive Award from our former President Abdullah Gül. He has more than 260 articles in journals within the scope of SCI/SCI Expanded and a total of more than 500 scientific studies. He has also held non-university academic positions such as TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) Food Institute Director, TÜBİTAK TEYDEB BİYOTEG group executive committee member, and Forensic Medicine 5th Department expert member. He continues his academic studies on microbiology and functional foods. According to Google Scholar data, his h index is 67.

Prof. Dr. Enes DERTLİ:

He works as a faculty member in the Department of Food Engineering at Istanbul Technical University. Prof. Dertli was awarded the TÜBA-GEBİP award, given annually by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) and TÜBİTAK to outstanding Young Scientists under the age of 40 in 2021. He received his award from our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Prof. Dr. Dertli, who has served as a director-researcher in many TUBITAK projects, continues his academic studies in the fields of Biotechnology, Molecular Biology and Genetics. He has over 141 articles in journals covered by SCI/SCI Expanded. According to Google Scholar data, his h index is 35.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Said TOKER:

He works as a faculty member in the Department of Food Engineering at Yıldız Technical University. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Toker, who has served as a director-researcher in many TUBITAK projects, continues his studies in the field of Food Processing Technology. He has over 149 articles in journals covered by SCI/SCI Expanded. According to Google Scholar data, his h index is 45.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oğuz Kaan ÖZDEMİR:

He works in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Yıldız Technical University. He has served as a director-researcher in many TUBITAK projects. Özdemir continues his academic studies on Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Corrosion and Corrosion Protection, Polymeric Materials, Material Characterization, Nanomaterials. He has more than 62 articles in journals within the scope of SCI/SCI Expanded. According to Google Scholar data, his h index is 15.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nihat ÖZCAN:

He is working at TÜBİTAK MAM Life Sciences Institute. He continues his studies in the field of analytical chemistry. He has experience in the training of TÜBİTAK ARDEB projects.

The Project Training scientific committee includes Prof. Dr. Kenan Yıldırım, Prof. Dr. Muhammet Çınar, Prof. Dr. Selçuk Sağır, Prof. Dr. Sedat Bozarı, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Savcı.

The Project Training Organization Committee includes Assist. Prof. Necattin Cihat İçyer, Assist. Prof. Halil Yılmaz, Assist. Prof. Gizem Hazan Akçay, Assist. Kemal Sülük, Lecturer Dr. Sefa Işık.

The project training will last for a total of 2 days with a minimum of 30 participants (20 academic staff and 10 students at the doctoral thesis stage) on 16-17 December 2024.
